I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t been with VSAE long. Danny’s welcoming sprit and sincere friendliness will never be forgotten.  He immediately helped me see VSAE was a group of special and interesting people. His family and VSAE family will be in my prayers.

I was devastated to learn of Danny's passing.  What a shock.  Danny had one of those personalities that were so full of life and joy.  It doesn't seem possible that his light is no longer with us.  In fact, I refuse to believe that it is.  For his friends and family, I know his light will shine on.

Not sure where to begin. Danny has been such a positive influence on me and on the new Agents that I’ve brought into our industry. He sent me many quality referrals over the years it’s too many to count. He also was generous with his time and expertise helping guide those Agents to good business decisions regarding networking opportunities and educational resources.

Danny was also a good friend and supporter during the early development of the Career Builder Program when the going was particularly tough.

I will miss the visits with Danny and the occasional Wegman’s lunch burger. He was a jewel and a great representative for the association and our industry.

He was a one of a kind! He would talk like Donald Duck when I brought my boys by the office and they thought he was hilarious (even tho they didn’t know who Donald Duck was!). From the first time I met him almost thirty years ago, I felt he had been my friend for my entire life. When my two sons enrolled in Hampden Sydney he was quick to congratulate me on their choice. I was fortunate to have him take care of something I needed a little help on last week when we had the Legislative Committee meeting. He like always jumped in with a big smile and a hand shake and you felt lucky and leased to have him help. He always wanted to take of care anything you needed.

He taught us all how to love and be loved. If everyone would be like Ashton D. Mitchell our industry and world would be better off. I am sorry for everyone's loss.

I am stunned and greatly saddened by the news of Danny’s passing. Beyond the terrific business relationship enjoyed by those of us who worked with Danny, I considered Danny a friend. He will be remembered for the relationships he built, his desire to help and advance the careers of others and, of course, his formidable wit. I never spent a minute with Danny I didn’t enjoy and never left his company without sharing a laugh or two. Gosh, he will be sorely missed! Our prayers are with his family.

This news rocked everyone I am sure – but I did take to heart your request – because how do you honor someone who is so entirely honorable…..  Danny will be missed in the insurance world for a very long time.  
 
So my only idea so far was…
 
Name the “IIAV Find a Market” program – “Danny Mitchell’s Find a Market”
Unless I am mistaken this was a program that Danny was instrumental in getting off the ground.  
 
I also want you and everyone there at IIAV to know that if there is anything that I can do to  help – please let me know.  It would be an honor for me to help in any way that I could!!
